Off-Kendrik Governing Body

Artistic Director: Sankha Bhowmick Ph.D

Sankha Bhowmick is the Professor and Chairperson of Mechanical Engineering at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. After his Ph.D at University of Minnesota, he was a research fellow at Harvard Medical School. His research interests are at the intersection of Mechanical Engineering and Medicine. He co-founded Off-Kendrik in 2008 and has since been at the helm as the Artistic Director. He has penned over 10 original plays and many more adaptations that have been performed by the team in the Greater Boston area.

Dipankar Mukherji is a professional director with a 25-year history of directing. He co-founded Pangea World Theater, an international theater in Minneapolis that is a progressive space for arts and dialogue. His aesthetics have evolved through his commitment to social justice, equity and deep spirituality and these factors along with relevant politics form the basis of his work. As a director, he has worked in India, England, Canada and the United States. Dipankar has received the Humphrey Institute Fellowship to Salzburg and has been a Ford Foundation delegate to India and Lebanon. He is a recent recipient of the Bush Leadership Fellowship award to study non-violence and peace methodologies in India and South Africa.

Avishek Ganguly is an Associate Professor at the Rhode Island Institute of Design. He is an interdisciplinary scholar who works at the intersection of translation, theater and performance, cultural studies, and contemporary literatures in English. Ganguly has held visiting research fellowships at Freie Universität-Berlin and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and taught at Columbia University, Bryant University and the University of Delhi. At RISD, he held the inaugural Global Faculty Fellowship and was awarded the Robert Turner Theatrical and Performance Design Grant. In 2020 Ganguly received the prestigious John R. Frazier Award for Excellence in Teaching. He was recently appointed to serve a three-year term as a commissioner on the Art in City Life Commission in Providence, RI

Gouri Datta is a Psychiatry Specialist - General practicing in Burlington, MA. Beyond her decades of practice addressing diverse mental health issues, she has also contributed to the Bengali literary movement in Massachusetts. Her contribution to the South Asian community has been immense
